Personal Press Release and Backgrounder

Another project we had at Full Sail University was to create a personal press release and backgrounder for a project you wish to make happen. Go for goals is what I always say, so here is what I created for my dream recording studio that is actually not far off from reality.

DubQueen’s opening her recording studio in Northern California!

Opening doors to the public in 2017, in the beautiful foothills of California outside of Sacramento,

An hour NE of Sacramento in Grass Valley, California. Tucked away in the woods you’ll find the home of Stephanie Barclay (DubQueen Promotions) and Ken Knee (Audio Engineer, GensoSound) and in the basement of that home you’ll find a 4,000 sq foot state-of-the-art recording studio

“While my boyfriend was hard working as a live audio engineer, I wanted to build an oasis away from the busy tour life” said Barclay. “Somewhere he could come home and relax in while mixing and mastering the art he records on the road.” Also adding, “There is a certain magic that happens when you record something for someone. That recording is precious as it’s the soul of the artist who is trying to share something so personal in a form of art.”

Artists, musicians, singers, songwriters, storytellers, bands, DJs and producers of all varieties looking for somewhere private to relax and record in a comfortable home. In their 4,000 square foot recording studio, they have a large live room with floating floors and cherry wood walls treated to acoustic perfection, large enough for an 8 piece band and applies the rules of “Golden Ratio”. Our vocal booth is treated and acoustically sound. It is even equipped with controls so you can be in control over how you sound. Our shared amenities include accommodations for sleeping and shower, fitness room, bowling alley, pool, hot-tub, yoga deck, lounge and kitchen where we’re always cooking up something good.

We would like to open the doors to our “Zen Recording Studio”, publically for all to enjoy. Offering our state-of-the-art recording studio, including vocal booth and live room with a variety of the latest gear to chose from. We want to offer a comfortable place for the artist to relax and unwind while having access to all of the latest gear they need to record that special piece in their life. We also provide accommodations for long term stays. To schedule your next recording in Northern California, visit zen@dubqueen.com

Stephanie has been consumed by the music industry her entire life. From jamming out on the guitar with her father and uncle as a little kid, singing in a band in her teens, to DJing and promoting. Stephanie launched her company DubQueen, a promotional company for bass music in her hometown of St. Louis in 2010. After two years of bookings, gigs, and partying throughout the MidWest, Stephanie moved to Las Vegas at the end of 2012. After two years of rejection in the front of the entertainment business, Stephanie decided to get her hands dirty and start working in the background as a stagehand.

Towards the end of 2015, life settled down and she ended up in Northern California, where she focused all of her energy into building the perfect recording studio and audio company with her boyfriend Ken. After building the studio she suffered from a case of writer’s block and decided to open the doors to the public. Giving to artists from all over the world, access to their recording studio in the heart of California. Where she’s been living happily ever since.
